Transforming the world through each sphere of society
I enjoy the flexibility and the impact. Flexibility is nice as I feel like I work better when I’m not being micro-managed or relegated to busy work. As an NGO, we are constantly sharing about the impact that we are bringing about.
In NGOs, the work always feels endless because you’re trying to solve an issue that is insurmountable. A difficulty is learning how to pace yourself and not feel the weight of needing to finishing everything that needs to be done while being faithful.
It gives us a deeper drive and passion to enact change.
We can do this by sharing the deeper hope that we have and the reason why we feel so strongly about what we’re doing. At the same time, by being a Christian in an NGO, I believe that we can truly shine the light when we work with excellence.
Always keep the bigger picture in mind. Perspective is a very important thing as it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the current issue that you’re facing. In the grand scheme of things, it might just be a tiny blip in the story.
