What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love my job because I love children. God has given me a calling and passion for Middle School students. I’m so honored to have the opportunity to invest in the lives of the youth. I have opportunities to mentor, disciple, and inspire these students every day. I love what I do and I’m blessed to be able to do it.

What is a challenge or difficulty you face at work?

The challenge that I face at work the ability to reach all students. At times it’s difficult to gauge and understand the needs of the diverse learner. I’ve also had many challenges in working with parents or trying to help students who struggle with academics, social life, and family problems.

How do you see that the Gospel is or could be transforming your workplace?

Educators have the opportunity to reach generations of students. There are so many students (even and my school – Christian school) who are not believer and families who don’t go to church. They are not believers and there is always an opportunity to bring a student and family closer to the Gospel. I’m thankful to be able to work in an environment where I can openly share and pray with my students.

What is one piece of advice you would give to those that will enter the workplace in the future?

Do something because you are passionate about it and because you love it. If you could do something for the rest of your life and not even get paid for it, what would it be? I love teaching, being a teacher, and going to work everyday.
