What do you enjoy most about your work?

This is one of the most diverse job where I get to meet students and parents who are in/interested in all kinds of industries in this world. It allows me to learn about life through learning people’s interesting life stories and family background.

What is a challenge or difficulty you face at work?

From counselling students with physical and/or mental disabilities to students being kicked out of school unexpectedly because of ridiculous reasons to parents’ unrealistic expectations, a challenge at work is to quickly adapt and handle various kinds of family situations where I don’t usually encounter in my daily life.

How do you see that the Gospel is or could be transforming your workplace?

Perspective. Look beyond your tasks at work and you’ll realize God has put numerous opportunities at work for YOU to shine the light at your workplace! (E.g. talking with cleaning lady at work in the morning, on your way to work, as you’re working overtime and initiating conversations with your interns, etc.)

What is one piece of advice you would give to those that will enter the workplace in the future?

“As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with ALL your heart. Work with ENTHUSIASM, as though you were WORKING FOR THE LORD rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.” – Ephesians 6:6-8 –> We’re not working for our parents, our bosses nor ourselves, but working for the Lord!
